# The Beauty API

> REST API for beauty data: 180,000 normalized skincare and cosmetics products and 22,000 ingredient records, with INCI ingredient lists, classifications, comedogenic and irritancy ratings, and 180,000 hosted product images. The same catalog is sold as a one-time dataset license (CSV, JSONL, SQLite).

The API is JSON over HTTPS at `https://api.thebeautyapi.com/v1`, authenticated with an `x-api-key` header. The reference below is one markdown file; the OpenAPI spec and the discovery document are served by the API itself and need no key. Data snapshot 2026.08 (updated 17 August 2026).
